Futures Academy Rusape (“Futures Academy”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of prospective students, guardians, parents, and visitors to this website (Futures Academy Rusape).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and protected, and the choices available to you. By using this website or submitting an application through it, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Admission application data — student details (name, date of birth, sex, grade or form applied for, special needs where disclosed) and guardian details (name, relationship to student, home address, cell number, occupation, and who is responsible for fees), submitted through our Apply form.
• Supporting documents — result slips, birth certificates, or similar files you upload as part of an application.
• Contact information — anything you send us directly by phone, WhatsApp, email, or the contact form, such as your name and message.
• Technical information — standard information such as browser type and pages visited, collected automatically when you browse the site.

• To process and assess admission applications for the secondary school.
• To communicate with applicants and guardians about the status of an application, fees, and enrolment.
• To respond to enquiries made via phone, WhatsApp, email, or the contact form.
• To maintain the security, functionality, and performance of this website.
• To comply with legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations relating to school enrolment.

Most of our applicants are minors. Application information about a student is submitted by, and with the consent of, their parent or legal guardian, who confirms the accuracy of the information provided and agrees to our admissions declaration at the time of submission. We only use student information for admissions and school administration purposes.

Application data is stored in the school's admissions database, and uploaded documents and photos are stored on the same hosting service. The hosting servers may be outside Zimbabwe. You are asked to agree to this before you submit an application, and the date and the version of the wording you agreed to are recorded with your application. Access is restricted to authorised Futures Academy staff involved in admissions. Photos are shown only to signed-in staff.

Documents you upload may be read automatically to fill in your details. Where the school has switched on an AI document-reading service, the picture of the document is sent to that service only to read it, and you check and correct what was read before you submit. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with regulatory or government bodies where required by law.

We retain application and guardian information for as long as necessary to process the application, and for as long as required by our record-keeping obligations if the student enrols. You may request deletion of your information at any time, as described in Section 9 below, where retention is not otherwise required by law.

Futures Academy has representatives assisting families based outside Zimbabwe, including in Ireland, Australia, and the United Kingdom. If you contact one of these representatives, your information is handled under the same principles set out in this Policy.

This website may use essential cookies or similar local storage required for the site to function correctly. We do not currently use these technologies for advertising. If this changes, this Policy will be updated accordingly.

You may contact us at any time to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or outdated information.
• Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal and administrative obligations.
• Withdraw consent for optional communications.
• Object to how your information is used, or contest a decision that was made using it, and ask for a person at the school to review it.
• Withdraw your consent to hosting outside Zimbabwe. We may then be unable to keep processing the application.

If you are not satisfied with how the school handles your information or answers a request, you may complain to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), which is the Data Protection Authority under the Cyber and Data Protection Act.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you share with us against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
